Ionart Studios Retrospective — Week of September 4, 2025

It’s been a busy and exciting week for Ionart Studios, from the premiere of NCIS: Tony & Ziva on Paramount+ to celebrating industry peers at the 77th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. We’re proud to have contributed visual effects to this long-awaited reunion. Being part of the NCIS legacy has been an honor, and we extend our congratulations to the cast, crew, and creative partners who made it possible.

This project also marks a major step for us as Ionart’s first full-season studio episodic, led by VFX Supervisor and Executive Producer Mark A.J. Nazal in the United States, together with Co-Producer and Co-Supervisor Károly “Charlie” Seiner in Budapest. Their leadership was supported by Ionart’s stellar team, whose talents and capacity grew throughout the series. We are deeply grateful to the partners who entrusted us with this journey, including VFX Executive Michael Silver, Producer Desiree Cadena, Production Manager Jesi Burch, VFX Supervisor Ante Dekovic, and many others whose collaboration helped bring the project to life.

In a bold move to reach even more fans, Paramount+ released the first three episodes on YouTube (available in select territories), giving wider audiences a chance to join the excitement. Early reception has been outstanding, with the show currently holding an 88% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, an 82% audience Popcorn Meter, and an impressive 4.5/5 rating.

Beyond the premiere, Mark A.J. Nazal had the privilege of proudly representing Ionart at the CBS/Paramount+ Crew Wrap Party in North Hollywood, where the first three episodes were screened for crew and creative partners, and later at the 77th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards in Los Angeles. These gatherings were a chance to celebrate not only the incredible work on screen but also the friendships and collaborations that made it all possible.

Congratulations to the teams behind this year’s Creative Arts Emmy winners for Outstanding Special Visual EffectsAndor for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Season or Movie, and The Penguin for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Single Episode.

It’s been a week of premieres, recognition, and celebration. We’re proud of our team, grateful to our partners, and thrilled to play a role in this ongoing legacy.
